Geography

The ocean lies to the east. The mountains cut off the forest and plains from the tundra to the north and the swamp and the jungle to the west. The desert is far off to the south; in fact, the ocean itself separates the two landmasses.
The city is situated on the edge of a cliff six hundred feet over the ocean. The city straddles a natural canyon; the docks are located on the inner faces of the canyon walls. Bridges and rope bridges crisscross the gap to join the two portions of the city on multiple levels. The southerly side, dubbed the Seaside Knifedge, had the external part shear off into the sea a dozen years ago. This exposed the “suburbs” of the Underdark city of Tun’is’y’ill, forcing the denizens to adapt to their neighbors and expand aggressively into the city proper.
The desert is known to the local inhabitants, mostly humans, halfings, orcs, and elves, as Seft.
The mountain is known to its inhabitants, mostly humans, dwarves, gnomes, and goliaths, as the Deep Sky Spine.
The swamp is known to its inhabitants, mostly humans, goblins, and hobgoblins, as Veriis.
The plain is known to its inhabitants, mostly humans, halflings, orcs, and elves, as Hu’re’sen.
The jungle is known to its inhabitants, mostly humans, naga, lizardfolk, and orcs, as the Enfolding Green.
The forest is known to its inhabitants, mostly humans, elves, halflings, goblins, and gnolls, as Darksun’s Slumber.
The tundra is known to its inhabitants, mostly gnolls, with a few human nomads, as Erk’grik!ss.
